Defence Coach
7s Coach
In my first season of coaching Melrose RFC I focused my coaching on the defence aspect of the game. We subsequently won the Scottish Borders Kings of the 7s (10 tournaments within 2 months). I achieved this by engaging with players, club staff, coaches, etc, to ensure a whole team approach. By doing this I was able to embed my new ways of working, thinking, and approaches to the game. This was well received by all, and I received very positive feedback even before we achieved our goal of winning Kings of the 7s 2013. This year we went on to win the Kings of the 7s again achieving more wins than anyone else has ever done and amassing a points total never before thought possible to achieve. Within my first season as a 15s coach we won the Premiership.
