Club Overview

Macclesfield Rugby Union Football Club is a totally inclusive organisation which believes in developing its players throughout their journey from Mini to Junior and Youth rugby, and eventually into the senior game where the National Stage beckons to showcase their skills. Situated in 27 acres of Cheshire green belt the Club fields’ four senior sides and a comprehensive, successful range of Youth, Mini and Junior sides.

The playing section is led by the 1st XV, better known as “The Blues”. Numerous promotions over a number of years saw them rise to their highest ever league finish – a creditable 4th in their first season in National Division One in Season 2010/11. Many 1st XV players have represented the County and some have also received national honours with the England Counties XV. Premiership and Championship clubs have also come calling with many former Blues ‘graduating’ to the top two divisions including the likes of Dan Baines, Tom Cruse and the brothers Charlie and Fergus Mulchrone.
