Club Overview

The Forbes Rugby club is looking to recruit players, both men and women for the 2024 season and beyond. We compete in the Central West Blowes Cup competition which is the strongest country rugby competition in NSW, if not Australia. We are well represented each year in the Central West representative teams as well as the NSW country representative teams, showing the club can be a stepping stone to higher level rugby opportunities. 

The Club

The club has teams ranging from the under 6’s all the way to first grade, including a colts and a women's team. There is great balance between being a family friendly and very social club, with multiple events throughout the year including the president’s lunch, ladies day and cocktail night to name a few. We have always been known to be a team that punches above our weight, as we compete against towns that are more than five times the size of us in population. The community and culture we have at Forbes Rugby is welcoming to all new players and families involved with the club, making it the perfect environment for someone looking for a change of scenery or lifestyle. About Forbes

Forbes is a welcoming and vibrant country town in the central west of NSW, located 5 hours west of Sydney and 3 hours north-west of Canberra. It has a population of around 8000 people. There is also a selection of primary schools and high schools available. Forbes has a very inclusive community and would be well suited to players of any stage in their rugby career. 

What we are offering 

For the suitable applicant, we are offering to assist with the cost of the airfares, as well as assisting in finding employment and accommodation. There are multiple employment opportunities available in a range of different professions in the Forbes area, and we are more than willing to assist in finding suitable work for players and their partner to match their interests, experience and qualifications.
