Cromwell Rugby Football Club is a growing Central Otago New Zealand rugby club, with a very proud tradition of success. The club and town are 60kms from Queenstown and 250kms from Dunedin. We are a community club with a family focus. We have a senior team, a junior club, age-grade teams, a female team which forms the basis of the Central Otago Women's team.  We are looking for players that want to play a good level of rugby and be part of a friendly club atmosphere. We are a club that value and look after our players.

We hope that new potential players are like us, where they want to be part of a club that will provide opportunities that allow them  to develop their own playing skills and knowledge of the game. Just as importantly, potential  players are likely to be looking for a club with personality plus - with an excellent social environment and positive club culture?

Our play is based on free-flowing attack, solid defence and rugged forward play. This takes more skill, better physical development and a different outlook mentally.

The senior team called the Cromwell Goats plays in the Central Otago Premier competition, which we have been three time winners and seven-time finalists in the last seven years. The players are humble, share a tight bond and you are part of our extended family.

Club Details

From this competition and the South Otago Premier competition a Otago Country Representative team is selected. Otago Country plays within a South Island wide competition. This is the pathway to the representative sides in the Bunnings Heartland Championship, the Bunnings National Provincial Championship and Super Rugby Pacifica.

• Our off season Conditioning Program kicks off December 2023
• Pre-Season Program runs from late February 2024
• The playing season runs from late March through to July for club footy, then representative games follow after.

We are looking for overseas players who were looking to come to NZ to up skill and can only offer employment and help with accommodation

We can offer a job, accommodation, gym membership, team gear, and the committee are comfortable to negotiate on anything else the player requires.

Please note that we typically require video footage of players based outside Otago that are looking to make our Premier side (so we can ascertain performance/competency).
